After a 2-1 loss to the Dash last weekend, the Boston Breakers look to for their first win against Sky Blue FC.
Boston was poised to win their home opener but 75’ minute substitute Teresa Noyola scored a brace in the final ten minutes to swing the match in Houston’s favor.
Heather O’Reilly and Joanna Lohman both lead the Breakers in goals after scoring a goal apiece against the Dash while Lisa De Vanna tallied her first assist of 2014.
Sky Blue defender Kelley O’Hara will looking to rebound after missing a go-ahead penalty kick in last weekend’s tie to Portland.
In that same match SBFC found their scoring from an unlikely place as 38-year-old defender Christie Rampone scored the first goal of her professional career.
Both teams come in to Sunday’s match in search of their first win of the season. Sky Blue FC have registered a tie in both their games so far while Boston has lost their first two.
Sky Blue FC return home next weekend to again face the Breakers in a Week 4 matchup.
Kristie Mewis is out for the Breakers with a left high ankle sprain. Hayley Haagsma is out for SBFC with a left knee ACL tear while captain Christie Rampone is probable with left toe sesamoiditis.
