Sky Blue FC signs Meg Morris, fills final roster slot

Sky Blue FC signed midfielder Meg Morris the team announced yesterday.

Morris played four years for the University of North Carolina and as a freshman was selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team, Top Drawer Soccer All-Rookie Team and Soccer America All-Freshman Team.

“Meg will challenge for playing time and provide us with solid defensive play when called upon,”Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra said.

Morris’ signing fills Sky Blue’s FC final roster spot. She was previously in camp with the Washington Spirit but was released prior to opening-day rosters being announced.

The Montclair, N.J., native, has international experience and was a member of the U-20 U. S. national team that participated in the 2010 World Cup.
