The Western New York signed Emma Kete and Kristen Edmonds the team announced Friday.
“Kete has done well for the past couple seasons with Sydney FC and wants to play at the highest level of women’s soccer,” Flash head coach Aaran Lines said. “It will also be nice to have a Kiwi, not only here at the club, but competing in the NWSL.”
The Auckland, New Zealand, native has made 48 appearances for the New Zealand National team scoring three goals. She also played for New Zealand at the 2012 Olympics.
Kete last played for Sydney FC of the Australian W-League.
Edmonds played last season for Russian club Rossiyanka in the Champions League and scored two goals and seven assists in 13 appearances.
“Kristen is a versatile player that brings in European experience,” Lines said. “She’s a good athlete and is someone that I believe can come in and give us depth at the outside back position.”
