Flash acquire international roster slot, send 2015 pick to FC Kansas City

FC Kansas City has acquired a second round pick in the 2015 NWSL Draft from the Western New York Flash in exchange for one of three international roster slots held by Kansas City.

The trade allows the Flash to add an international player to their roster for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

In addition to the trade, FC Kansas City has announced they have released forward Jaime French and defender Katie Kelly.

French, 24, played only one game for Kansas City after being signed by the club in July.

The Wheaton, Ill., native previously played her college career at Wheaton where her 127 career points are sixth best in school history.

Kelly, 26, made seven appearances for the club after being signed as a discovery player ahead of the 2013 season.

Kelly previously played for Swedish side Kristianstads DFF in the Damallsvenskan and for Marquette University.
