Seattle Reign resign Jessica Fishlock

The Seattle Reign has resigned midfielder Jessica Fishlock, the team announced Friday.

Fishlock’s new deal will keep her with Seattle for the 2014 NWSL season, with club options for 2015 and 2016.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be extending my contract,” Fishlock said. “For me, playing for the Reign is an honor. I’m looking forward to building on last year and being a part of something special in Seattle.”

The Welsh captain scored four goals in 21 starts for the Reign, and was named to the NWSL Best XI.

The midfielder has played for Glasgow City FC in Scotland Premier League and currently the Melbourne Victory of the Australia’s Westfield W-League.

At Glasgow City, Fishlock won the Scottish Women’s Premier League and competed in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. She will also appear in the Westfield W-League Championship Final for Melbourne.
