The roster moves just keep coming in Seattle.
Yesterday, the club announced that the Reign had acquired the rights to Scottish midfielder Kim Little from the Washington Spirit. Seattle subsequently signed Little to a one-year deal.
The trade sent midfielder Christine Nairn back to the east coast. Nairn was selected seventh overall in the 2013 College Draft. She started all 22 matches for the Reign, scoring three goals and adding five assists.
Little comes to the Reign after a six-year stint with Arsenal Ladies LFC. She tallied 47 goals for Arsenal, including a 25-goal year in 2012. She earned Women’s Player of the Year honors from the Professional Footballers’ Association.
The Scottish international comes into Seattle having played under Reign GM/head coach Laura Harvey from 2010-2012. Harvey coached the Arsenal Ladies to three league titles and the FA Women’s Cup in 2011.
Little has made 86 appearances for the Scottish National team and was a member of the 2012 Great Britain Olympic team. Her first cap came in 2007.
