FC Kansas City announced a two year partnership with Verizon Wireless on Friday. The partnership included the naming rights to Shawnee Mission North District Stadium, which will be renamed Verizon Wireless Field.
“We’re very excited about our partnership with Verizon Wireless, known nationally for connecting people through their powerful technology,” said FC Kansas City President, Brian Budzinski. “We’re looking forward to creating many exciting soccer memories for our great fans on Verizon Wireless Field.”
“Our relationship with FC Kansas City allows us to support a terrific asset to the Kansas City area. We are proud to be working with the team,” said Brendan Fallis, president-Kansas/Missouri region, Verizon Wireless.
Verizon Wireless will also have its own Verizon Wireless Night at a game to be determined as well as several charitable events with the FC Kansas City organization.
The announcement comes one day after the club announced a television partnership with Time Warner Cable Metro. Time Warner Cable will air eight home games for the Blues for the 2013 season including this Saturday’s match-up with the undefeated Boston Breakers.
“The Kansas City soccer fan base is one of the most passionate in the country,” said FC Kansas City Team President, Brian Budzinski. “We’re excited to work with Time Warner Cable Metro Sports to bring FC Kansas City games and the top women professional soccer players in the world into their homes.”
